An established financial services business is looking for a Senior Data & BI Engineer with current, hands-on Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog experience, alongside experience delivering analytics for customer operations and/or marketing teams.
You'll play a key role in modernising its data platform, building production pipelines, modelling data in Delta Lake and developing Power BI reporting that teams can trust.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for delivery from initial requirements through to production and ongoing improvement. You'll work independently, make sound technical decisions and take the lead in resolving challenges, while keeping stakeholders informed.

The role:
·Build and maintain production pipelines using Databricks, Python, PySpark and SQL.
·Develop the lakehouse using Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
·Create dimensional models, Power BI semantic models and advanced DAX measures.
·Work with senior stakeholders to define consistent KPIs and reporting requirements.
·Own data products end to end, including testing, deployment and operational support.
·Identify and deliver improvements to performance, reliability and ways of working.
·Mentor colleagues and help set engineering standards.

Essential experience:
·Current, hands-on production experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog, supported by strong PySpark and SQL skills.
·Experience delivering analytics for customer operations and/or marketing teams, with an understanding of the measures that drive performance.
·Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, semantic modelling and row-level security.
·Experience modernising a legacy data platform and taking solutions into production.
·A track record of owning delivery end to end and being accountable for the outcome.
·Experience investigating complex problems, evaluating options and driving a solution through to completion.
·Evidence of making improvements without waiting to be asked.
·Confidence handling delivery pressures, working with senior stakeholders and guiding colleagues.
·Microsoft Fabric experience would be a bonus.
