Modelling & Analytics Consultant- Operational Research - Salary £40-55K (DoE) - Hybrid working from home & Berkshire offices - J12550

An exciting opportunity to apply your consultancy and technical skills to varied projects, where you can see the real impact of your work with emergency services around the world. A collaborative, intelligent and friendly team.

The role brings together interpreting and understanding the needs of clients while applying a range of analytical and modelling techniques. Joining the team will enable you to apply consultancy skills to real-world issues, using their unique software to help public services operate more effectively.

Some of the projects that their consultants have recently worked on include:
• Optimising the locations for new stations in US fire departments.
• Identifying the requirements for vehicle numbers to meet rising demand for ambulance services.
• Enhancing our tools for emergency service control centres by liaising with our software team and the client.

Once established, you will be required to build and maintain client relationships. This will involve using effective communication at all stages of a project, both internally and externally, progressing to responsibility for project management. Their approach to helping emergency services involves identifying appropriate solutions to tackle less routine tasks and undertaking a range of analytical and modelling activities, including using cutting-edge simulation and optimisation software.

About You
-They are looking for an enthusiastic team member with proven experience of interpreting complex analysis and explaining these processes in easy-to-understand terms.
-You will need to have proven commercial experience post graduation of doing optimisation and simulation modelling to represent real-life systems and understand the complexities and challenges around this.
-You will be expected to work well within small teams and independently, but also be comfortable in presenting to a wide range of audiences. This requires the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with external clients as well as internally.
-They are looking for someone who has the desire to manage their own projects, so experience of this would be helpful. Some understanding of the emergency services, healthcare sector or other public sector bodies would be advantageous.
-From a technical perspective you should have strong numeracy skills and being highly proficient in the use of Excel is crucial. Skills in SQL (or other database systems), R and GIS software would be beneficial but not essential.
