An exciting opportunity to make a difference for this social housing organisation who are building out a newly formed Data Analytics team. At the heart of their data strategy lies a simple goal: to gain deep insights into their properties, the tenants that live in them, and the overall performance of the company to ensure that their properties and neighbourhoods are places those tenants are proud to call home.

The role
To lead, motivate, and develop a cohesive Business Intelligence team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement and empowering each member to excel in their roles. To also establish a BI centre of excellence, championing best practices, standardisation, and governance in business intelligence and data analytics.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality BI solutions aligned with business requirements and strategic objectives.
• Line-manage, mentor, and motivate a team of BI professionals, fostering a positive, collaborative, innovative and inclusive team culture.
• Hold regular team meetings and 1-1s to set clear performance expectations, identify training needs, provide coaching, guidance, and resources, and encourage professional certifications and continuous learning.
• Oversee the Power BI environment, including user access, permissions, data sources, and workspaces, to optimise performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with security and governance policies.
• Set up a data and analytics centre of excellence' to bring together data analysts from across the organisation and build competency and data maturity.
• Build strong relationships with key organisational stakeholders, including senior management, business users, and IT.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and broaden the availability and effective use of data to inform decisions.
• Lead or contribute to development sprints and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Experience
• Degree level education with experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Proven evidence of success across BI, analytics, or related roles
• Experience of ETL, data warehousing, data visualisation and BI governance.
• Azure data services, Power BI, and Azure DevOps and Power BI Administration experience.
• Used agile project management methodologies and analytical techniques.
• Ability to influence business decisions with data insight and delivery of self-service reporting functionality to business users.
• Knowledge of information governance and privacy requirements, including GDPR, with a strong awareness of information security risks and mitigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels and communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
