Currently working with a leading real estate organisation to recruit for a truly exciting and unique opportunity of Market Signals Intelligence Lead. This role is accountable for establishing and leading enterprise market intelligence capability, turning complex internal and external data into single interpretation of market dynamics for senior leadership decision making.
You'll work cross functionally with teams such as Data Science, Research and Business Intelligence, and work to bridge the gap by owning the transition from descriptive reporting to interpretive, forward thinking intelligence, directly shaping how the firm understands and responds to market conditions.
Key responsibilities
• Define enterprise-level market signals, leading indicator frameworks, and prioritisation models to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.
• Establish a forward-looking (1-3 year) signal architecture and firm-wide standards for signal definition, interpretation, and narrative consistency.
• Own the Quarterly Market Signals Narrative, synthesising insights into key decision-relevant signals, providing clear directional judgement, confidence levels, and highlighting evidence gaps or emerging risks.
• Deliver a coherent market narrative adopted at Partner and Board level, eliminating fragmented or conflicting interpretations across senior stakeholders.
• Act as a senior, non-hierarchical capability lead, influencing BI, Data Science, and Research teams while setting the analytical agenda through signal prioritisation.
• Integrate external economic datasets (e.g., Macrobond) with internal performance data to generate causal and contextual insights.
• Partner closely with the Global Head of Research, Head of Residential, Senior Partner, and executive leadership to inform market positioning, investment decisions, and responses to macroeconomic and geopolitical changes.
Required Skills
• Advanced capability in interpreting complex economic relationships, interdependent variables, and broader system dynamics.
• Strong ability to identify leading and lagging indicators, separating meaningful signals from noise.
• Skilled in evaluating causality limitations and moving beyond simple correlation-based analysis.
• Deep understanding of housing and real estate markets, including core and prime segments.
• Strong knowledge of credit conditions, mortgage lending cycles, and refinancing behaviours.
• Broad understanding of macroeconomic indicators and geopolitical factors influencing markets.
• Practical expertise in integrating diverse data sources, combining internal performance data with external datasets such as Macrobond.
• Experienced in managing structural data challenges, including quality issues, limited granularity, timing differences, and access constraints.
