As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we're looking for a Data Architect to join our IT Team on a permanent basis.

The Data Architect will be the owner of the Business Data Model, ensuring it delivers the progressive business needs with projects deployed within agreed timescales, scope, and budget.
Responsible for:
·Defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, security, and master data.
·Translating business requirements into technical specifications for data flows, integrations, databases, and data warehouses.
·Ensuring that business data is held, transmitted, and consumed, in line with Data Privacy and Data Security policies.
·Review data services by 3rd parties, establishing relationships, ensuring they uphold architectural standards, and propose opportunities for the strategic data programme.
·Work with the IT Leadership Team to ensure a strong understanding of the business data model is understood and developed in line with the wider technology strategy.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
·Experience as a Data Architect with a history of delivering successful data programmes.
·Building of Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models.
·Expert experience of Data Privacy/GDPR and ongoing management of data compliance.
·Experience of working with databases involving customer data and transactional information.
·Stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with suppliers and partners to achieve outcomes and deliver projects to time and cost.
·Experience of working within and influencing complex technology programmes and the inter-relationships and impacts of new solutions.
·Basic understanding of ITIL standards and experience of the operating environment.
·Excellent communication skills to present reports or give advice, presenting complex technical information in a way which can be readily understood by a nontechnical audience.
·Strong knowledge of database structure, systems, and data mining.
·Experience in the use of data visualisation and data mining tools and application of the tools to enhance business activity.
Desirable
·Deployment of data models to a cloud environment.
·Data mining background and manipulation of large databases.
·Implementing, or significant involvement in, Data Privacy/GDPR compliance projects.
·Demonstrable knowledge of the Microsoft stack of data tools.
·Established experience in managing a Data Team.
·ITIL qualified to minimum Foundation level.

The on-site location for this role is our support office, Mint House', in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it's just off the A505 and 10 minutes' walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King's Cross.
