Data Management Specialist - Leeds or Halifax - Hybrid/Flex working
A leading UK based financial services group providing a diverse range of consumer and commercial products, have an opening for a new Data Specialist to make a fundamental difference to their data quality to large legacy data sets. •Responsible for ensuring data policy adoption, compliance and effective governance.
•Developing and driving strategic/change initiatives to improve Retail Bank Data Management capabilities in line with Group Data Policy.
•Support the enhancement of data management delivery through change and data by design evolution, building business cases and funding proposals for future data management improvements.
•Carry out Data Quality Risk Assessment activities including risk measurement and prioritisation of remediation requirements.
•Develop and lead engagement with key and senior partners.
•Support identification and shaping of opportunities for strategic improvements through innovation and creative thinking.
•Under direction of management, support and handle policy compliance for in-scope Core data including BCBS239 and GDPR/Personal Data.
•Support definition and assignment of new Data Domains and Critical Data Elements including with a strong focus on Data responsibilities and accountabilities for Divisional and Technical Application (system) Owners.
•Providing guidance when required on acquiring, organising, protecting, and processing data to fulfil business objectives for Data Management.
Experience & Skills
•Proven experience of working across business areas/functions.
•Ability to support change initiatives to drive positive tangible outcomes.
•Good technical understanding of Data & Data Management practices including Data Quality Management, Metadata Management and Data Management Governance & Delivery.
•Risk Management & control understanding for the assessment and mitigation/management of Data risks.
•Collaboration and innovation capabilities, to simplify sophisticated information.
•Strong technical capabilities on gathering, coordinating and analysing data in MS Excel.
•EDMC's Data management Capability Assessment
•Model (DCAM) accreditation / understanding.
