Credit Risk & ESG Senior Consultant - Madrid - J12635 - Competitive Salary (DOE)

An exciting opportunity to join an independent consulting firm who specialises in finance, risk and strategy and have extensive global experience and industry recognition in the financial services, risk management and finance communities. The role will be to integrate their climate risk and sustainability topics into our client's offerings. They will support ESG projects and assist with analytics and modelling, FIO and credit risk projects on occasion.

Expertise required:-
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in climate risk and sustainability in banking and financial services
• First hand ESG experience from projects related to:
oIntegration of ESG in strategy and bank steering
oIntegration of ESG in risk management
oIntegration of ESG in credit process and client engagement
oClimate Risk Stress Testing
oCalculation of emissions (PACTA)
oDevelopment of Decarbonization targets (SBTi / PACTA)
oPreparation of regulatory disclosure (Pillar 3) or non-financial reporting
• Knowledge of current regulatory requirements relating to ESG (in particular ECB Guide on Climate and Environmental Risk, EU-Taxonomy, NFRD/CSRD, EBA guideline on Pillar 3 reporting - Green Asset Ratio) as well as other frameworks (TCFD, ISSB, Sustainable Finance)
• Background and extensive knowledge of credit risk topics
oQuantitative background with strong analytical skills and an interest in quantitative topics
oProficiency in Excel; nice-to-have: R, Python and knowledge of their uses in the work environment
oStrong communication skills and ability to work in a team
oAbility to work independently and to quickly familiarise with new topics
oFluent in English and in Spanish (incl. the ability to write professional reports) Language skills assessment is part of the interview process!
